Do you want to ace your video interviews and land your dream job? Well, I’ve got good news for you: it’s not rocket science. In fact, it’s pretty easy. And as an added bonus, you don’t even need to put on pants!

Atmosphere

First off, make sure you’re in a quiet and private place for your interview. Consider blurring your screen, this can easily be done in Zoom and other video conference technologies and check your lighting in advance.

Attire

Next, don’t forget to dress the part. Sure, this might be an introductory screen, but first impressions still matter! So, put on some real clothes, at least on top, and look like you’ve made an effort!

Technology

Speaking of cameras, make sure yours is working properly. You don’t want to be the person who spends the first 10 minutes of the interview fiddling with your camera, or worse, late to the call because you couldn’t get the link to work. Be prepared in advance!

Research

Now, onto the actual interview. Don’t forget to do your research on the company and the position beforehand. This means more than just skimming the first page of their website. Dig deep, find out what they’re really about, and come up with thoughtful questions to ask your interviewer. You want to show that you’re not just a pretty face, but also a well-informed and curious candidate.

Finally, be yourself and don’t be afraid to show your personality. Sure, it might be tempting to act like a robot and give generic answers to every question, but that’s not going to make you stand out. You want to show your potential employer what makes you unique and why you’d be a great fit for their team.

And there you have it, folks. Follow these simple tips, and you’ll be well on your way to nailing that video interview. Now, go forth and show ’em what you’ve got!
